Cumulus Broadcasting- Flint,MI.

Equal Employment Opportunity Program

WRSR-FM, WDZZ-FM, WWCK-FM and WWCK-AM serve the greater Genesee county and provide equal employment opportunities to all job applicants. Utilizing various community resources, these stations form a unit to draw qualified job applicants from all segments of our ethnically diverse community.

The following outlines the stations program of equal opportunity to fill all full-time job opportunities:

  1. A list of recruitment sources and community organizations is used to generate applicants for every full-time job opening. This list includes local, state and national organizations assisting minorities and females. A review of this list is made with each new full-time employment listing and revised and updated as needed.

  2. In the event of a full-time opening, these organizations will be contacted with information on said opening.

  3. Dated copies of employment notices to recruitment sources and community organizations will be retained in stations’ files.

  4. Stations, individually and collectively, will supplement this program with participation in community events conducive to reaching potential job applicants outside of the broadcast industry with a focus on events that attract women and minorities. All station sponsorship and participation will be documented.

Cumulus Broadcasting-Flint, MI. will review the effectiveness of this program periodically and make adjustments to further the goal of offering equal employment opportunities to all applicants and to insure these applicants represent all communities within our service area.

All employment notices, materials and advertisements whether written or broadcast will contain the phrase “Cumulus Broadcasting-Flint is an equal opportunity employer.”

The administrator of this program will work along with the Public Service Director in supervising and maintaining this equal opportunity program and transferring needed information to stations’ public files.

Cumulus Broadcasting-Flint actively promotes Equal Employment Opportunities for all, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin or sect.

TYPE OF RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE
(MENU SELECTION)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY

1

Internship Program

During this reporting period the Ann Arbor SEU hosted twenty three (23) student interns from Grand Valley State University, Eastern Michigan University, University of Michigan, Washtenaw Community College, Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, Scripps College, Central Michigan University, Saint Mary’s College, and Indiana University.

These student interns, each of whom received academic credit for their internship, were supervised by the Promotions and Production Directors.  The interns gained hands-on experience in the Marketing, Promotions and Programming departments, “shadowed” the Promotions Director and On-Air Hosts and observed the day-to-day operations of the stations in the SEU.  In addition, the interns learned how to use tools and programs commonly used in the broadcast industry.
